Publisher review:xlswrite5 - Create an Excel spreadsheet natively in biff5 format from MATLAB (without ActiveX !). Creates a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet *WITHOUT* the ActiveX interface. No Excel installation is required. Fast. Matrices of classes double, int32, char, cell and struct are supported. Calling convention and further details are described in xlswrite5.m, for an example and benchmark see xlstest5.m.The format of the generated file is old (biff5 (Excel 2.1)), but it can (optionally) be converted to current format if you open and save the file with Excel (97/2000/XP). After that conversion you can read it with the built in function xlsread.Updated: Fixed crash in Excel 2000/XP when "Save as..." in current format. (With Excel 97 or a save in old format it was ok).
